Our story
The problem came first.
A patient may spend a small fraction of the year in direct contact with healthcare professionals. The rest of the time they are largely responsible for navigating healthcare on their own — understanding instructions, managing medication, scheduling referrals, interpreting benefits and deciding what to do when something changes.
Every organization responsible for that patient has tried to reach into that space. Portals, apps, reminder texts, automated calls, call centers, care-management programmes and outreach campaigns each serve a purpose. But they were designed to deliver information, complete a transaction or support a workflow. They were not designed to maintain a continuous relationship with a person across time.
Hygia was created to build that relationship, and to make what it learns useful to the people and organizations responsible for care.
